Alexander Zverev becomes the first German player to win Roland Garros since Henner Henkel's victory in 1937.
Last time a German player won a grand slam title was Boris Becker 30 years ago, a year before Sascha was born in Hamburg.
As I am sure Sergey would have some comments about the nationality of the RG winner, it is fair to say that Zverev was born from Russian parents and his older brother Mischa's place of birth was still Moscow. The Zverev family migrated to Germany in 1991 in Boris Jelcin's times.
