In this prediction game ...
In order to enter predictions you need to be signed up for the according prediction game.
You might enter/change your prediction until the according match starts.
All predictions must be entered on this website. All predictions sent by email are without exception invalid.
There are several opportunities to enter your predictions.
- by selecting the menu option: Predictions ➜ Round prediction
- by clicking on the according Rounds on the page 'Fixtures & Results'
- the predictions of all prediction games in which the player takes part are also shown on the page Predictions ➜ All predictions for the next 5 days and Predictions ➜ Open predictions for the next 5 days
Different types of predictions
As this site covers different kind of sport events, the types of predictions also differ.
You can enter the correct game result predictions of matches for this sports:
- Football
- Tennis
- Snooker
- Golf
- Darts
- Volleyball
- Squash
- Field hockey
- Table tennis
- Beach Soccer
- Chess
- Field hockey
- Pool
- Beach Volleyball
For matches of this high-scoring sports you can enter predictions only for the point difference:
- Basketball
- Ice hockey
- Handball
- American football
- Rugby
- Baseball
- Australian football
- Curling
- Water polo
For some sports you have to enter a generalised prediction for a match result like: tight win, normal win or decisive win.
- Cricket
- Golf match play
- Chess
Certain prediction games that comprise stages/races require a prediction like: 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, 4th place, ...
- Motorsport
- Cycling
- Horse racing
Last but not least, in event based prediction games you have to enter the nationalities of the gold, silver and bronze medal winners:
- Olympic Games
- Athletics
- Swimming
- Biathlon
- Nordic skiing
You only get points for predicting a correct Gold, Silver or Bronze medallist. Different points are awarded depending on the medal.
- 3 Points - Gold
- 2 Points - Silver
- 1 Point - Bronze
If you predict all three medallists correctly you'll get the maximum of 6 points.
For most of the event predictions you can enter the same nationality as Gold, Silver and/or Bronze winner. For some event predictions however you have to enter three different nationalities. You will see this limitation usually for team or relay events.
For some events it is necessary to enter predictions hours or even days before the event is over. A decathlon extends over two days. It wouldn't make sense to enter a prediction just before the 1500-metre run.
Most of team sports events also require an early prediction. Usually before the start of first match of the quarter finals.
A rule of thumb is: You can still enter a prediction as long as eight participants/teams are left as possible medal winners.
A rule of thumb is: You can still enter a prediction as long as eight participants/teams are left as possible medal winners.
Most of the prediction games also include an overall result prediction. Depending on the prediction game this might be a season prediction, a tournament prediction or a general classification prediction.
An overall result prediction is not part of the currently selected prediction game
The deadline for entering this overall prediction is dependent on the prediction game.

Contests
In this prediction game ...
Each prediction game includes multiple contests. The number and types of prediction contests might be different for each prediction game.
There are the following prediction contests:
Some prediction games are split into half (1st/2nd). In split prediction games the Cup contest, League contest and Drop Out contest are staged twice.
This prediction game is not split.
In addition to the main contests above there a are some less important (unofficial) contests.
In this prediction game ...
The rules are as as simple as it gets. The better your predictions, the more points you'll get. The player with the best score wins the Classic contest.
The final score is the sum of the points from round predictions and the points from the overall result prediction. Please note that some prediction games do not require an overall prediction.
This prediction game do not require an overall prediction.
There are different ways to rank players with equal points.
- In all event based prediction games, this tie-breaking order will be applied to rank players with equal score: Number of correct gold medal predictions, number of correct silver medal predictions.
- If the prediction game don't contain an overall prediction, then no tie-breaking criteria will be applied to rank players with equal score. Same number of points means same table rank.
- If the prediction game contains an overall prediction, then this tie-breaking criteria will usually be applied to rank players with equal score: Points from the round predictions outweigh points from the overall prediction.
- If the prediction game contains an overall prediction, then this tie-breaking criteria will seldom be applied to rank players with equal score: Points from the overall prediction outweigh points from the round predictions.
No tie-breaking criteria will be applied to rank players with equal score.

The Cup contest contains several knock-out rounds. The number of Cup rounds depends on the number of participants.
A player will be added randomly to a first Cup round slot as soon as a prediction was entered for the first Cup round. This task will be done by a program that runs every 30 minutes. Most of the Cup contests won't have exactly 16, 32, 64, 256, 512, 1024, ... participants, so some players will have a bye in the first Cup round.
0 Players have a first round bye
Not all prediction rounds are part of the Cup contest. If, for example, the prediction game contains 10 prediction rounds and 200 players are participating, then the Cup contest will only need 8 Cup rounds (2^8 = 256 first round spots).
In rare cases there are less Cup round slots than players participating. The Six Nations tournament e.g. contains only five rounds which results in only 2^5=32 available slots. In that case the first round will be used as a qualification round and the best 16 players will qualify for the Cup contest. But most of the prediction games include more than 10 rounds which offers 2^10=1024 available slots.
The player with the better score will proceed to the next cup round. The winner of the final Cup round is the winner of the Cup contest.
In case of a draw the following tie-breaking criteria will be applied:
- the result from the previous cup round
- all other cup rounds (backwards step-by-step)
- the ranking from the Classic contest
- the ranking from the Cluster contests with the fewest prediction games
In some prediction games (mostly football) the Cup contest will be staged twice. If a Cup round contains one or more postponed matches, the according Cup round will be shifted to the next round.
In this prediction game ...
In the League contest all participants compete against each other in a round robin system.
There is no League contest in this prediction game.
The winner of each duel gets 3 points. In case of a draw, both players get 1 point.
When the League contest is over, the top ranked players will be promoted to a higher league, the bottom ranked players will be relegated to a lower league.
- In some prediction games (mostly football) the League contest will be staged twice.
- If the number of players exceeds the number of available rounds a player might compete against more than one opponent in a single round.
- If qualified players from the previous edition didn't sign in before the League contest starts, their places will be filled up by players from the next lower league.
- New players won't enter an already running League contest.

In the so-called Drop Out contest the number of players are reduced bit by bit every round. Each round the players with the fewest points will be eliminated and the remaining players will move on to the next round. The player with the most points in the final round is the winner of this contest.
The minimum number of players which will be eliminated (Drop Out) is determined in the following way:
- PLAYERS = number of players left
- ROUNDS = number of rounds left to play
- DROPOUT = minimum number of players to get eliminated
- DROPOUT = rounding up ( PLAYERS / ROUNDS )
Some examples:
- PLAYERS = 25
- ROUNDS = 5
- DROPOUT = rounding up ( 25 / 5 ) = 5
- PLAYERS = 10
- ROUNDS = 4
- DROPOUT = rounding up ( 10 / 4 ) = 3
- PLAYERS = 311
- ROUNDS = 19
- DROPOUT = rounding up ( 311 / 19 ) = 17
In case of equal points the number of players which will be eliminated might be higher that the calculated Drop Out.
Example:
Place
Points
1
Player ABC
25
2
Player XYZ
23
3
Player CIA
22
Player FBI
22
5
Player NSA
21
Drop Out
6
Player SRT
20
Player BBT
20
Player HZU
20
9
Player PTR
18
10
Player NOQ
17
PLAYERS = 10 | ROUNDS = 4 | DROPOUT = rounding up ( 10 / 4 ) = 3
As all players on position 6 got 20 points all three players will be eliminated. In case one of them only got 19 points, the other two players would move on to the next round.

The Rat Race contest contains a list of sorted boxes. The topmost box (Box 1) includes two players. With each descending box the number of players increases by 1. Box 2 contains 3 players, Box 3 contains 4 players, Box 4 contains 5 players, and so on.

Please notice:
- In case of equal points the players will be ranked according to the position from the previous round. Relegated player above established player, established player above promoted player.
- There will be no Rat Race round if a round contains postponed matches.
- The player ranking at the beginning of the Rat Race contest is determined by the ranking at the end of the previous season.
- The bottommost box probably contains unfilled places.
- A new player will be added at the end of the bottommost box as soon as he has entered any prediction.

The Challenge contest differs substantially from the other contests. Unlike all contests where each player needs to predict the final result (independently of the other players), in the Challenge contest the players interact with each other.
There is no Challenge contest in this prediction game.
Please notice: There is no obligation to enter a challenge or objection every week. The participation is completely voluntary. The scoring system of the Challenge contest is entirely isolated from the scoring system of other contests.
The basic principle is simple: Every player can enter a challenge or raise an objection to challenges from opponents. If his prediction turns out to be right he'll get points according to the number of objections which were entered by the other players. If his prediction turns out to be wrong he'll lose points according to the number of objections.
How does the Challenge contest work?
- A challenge can be entered soonest 14 days before kick-off time.
- A challenge can be entered not later than 1 day before kick-off time.
- A challenge can only deleted as long as there is no objection from another player.
- It is not possible to enter the same challenge twice for one match.
- All challenges without objections will be deleted: No points for anybody.
- An objection can be set until kick-off time.
- An objection can be deleted until kick-off time.
How does the points system work?
In case of a lost challenge...
- the player who entered the challenge will lose 1 point for each objection that was raised against his challenge
- every player who sets an objection against this challenge will get 1 point
In case of a won challenge...
- the player who entered the challenge will get 2 points for each objection that was raised against his challenge
- every player who sets an objection against this challenge will lose 1 point

To win a golden shield a player has to score every round above average. The more rounds a prediction game has, the more difficult it is to accomplish this.
A silver shield is awarded to players that score every round (execpt one) above average. A bronze shield is awarded to players that score every round (execpt wto) above average.
It's not unusual that in prediction games with more than 20 rounds nobody wins any shield in this contest. But It is also likely that in prediction games with few rounds more than one player wins a golden, silver or bronze shield.
Any season, tournament or other overall predictions are not part of this contest.
