The Ekstraklasa 2023/24 prediction game is over.

Lech drop their local rival Warta to 2-tier by losing to Korona at home. Warta lost at Jagiellonia as planned but there had been hope in Poznań that Lech (nothing to play for) would manage to win or draw anyway. Lech/Warta rivalry is not that important, Warta being effective a lower-leaguer for most of their history. I even heard opinions that Lech might appreciate Warta usually giving away 6pts to Lech each season easily. That didn't happen though. Lech lost even though they scored an equaliser in final minutes only to be disallowed by VAR a while later.

Good for Kielce. They have an eternal regional rivalry with Radom so it would be a pity if Kielce had been relegated and Radom had stayed up. Even if Radomiak are friends with Legia and Korona are not. It's also one of few teams that have been traditionally owned and financed by their city. Interesting fact, for a few years in late 2010s the majority shareholding belonged to a former German and Werder's goalie D.Burdenski.

I was almost sure that Korona would win but played a safe game (Lech's win) to keep my medal. Now I am looking that silver was a possibility had I been braver but gold was out of reach anyway (although close) so I am more than glad that silver goes to Deeko and deservedly so!
