The 14x Polish league Champions Ruch Chorzów join ŁKS Łódź in Ekstraklasa next season.

Wisła Kraków will need to fight their way back to topflight through playoffs:

In case anyone counted on Wisła Kraków's promotion back to Ekstraklasa this year. Well, they just lost 1-4 in the playoff semis in front of home crowd of 20k people against a small club Puszcza Niepołomice (the town has 16k inhabitants, that is less than the number of spectators watching Wisła's collapse in Kraków...).

Nieciecza's population is ca.700 inhabitants. In Niepołomice there live ca.16k people.

Nieciecza have a decent most recent record of Ekstraklasa appearances though (4 seasons in total since 15/16).

Puszcza have an interesting and long local history. They were established in 1923 and inherited their name after a Jewish FC 'Puszcza' who then merged with another local team Niepołomianka. The original Jewish club name for the merged team returned no sooner than after the IIWW.
