I learnt about it from the news as I hadn't played the comp. Probably nobody in the nation knew about this tournament and nobody followed it. It got some hype post-factum because of the gold medal though.
Quickly checking now that Poland was tipped by most players to end 3rd in the group and not advancing to QF, so a big surprise there I guess.

An interesting fact about this tournament that there was one group on the famous social site where was the translation of him! I saw almost every play-off match :)
