A great overall victory by Vollering shadowed by Niewiadoma's just complaints about Vollering's domestique Gery purposedly blocking Niewiadoma to the barriers on Stage 8's final climb right after Vollering had launched her attack and when every second mattered (Vollering was 0.15 behind in GC at that point).
Vollering proved the next day on Stage 9 she was the better rider but the cycling world is generally disappointed about what happened on stage 8. So a little bitterness to what otherwise was a great tour.
Congrats to Simon on winning gold! I had been trying to secure my TdF M's/W's double this year but I was clearly outscored by Simon on one of the pivotal stages where it was all about betting correctly on a GC riders vs breakaway scenario.
