Jeremy Sochan becomes the first Pole to win NBA! Interestingly, he was traded to Knicks last February from... the other finalist, San Antonio Spurs.
Sochan (age 23) didn't play much this season in either of the two teams (for instance, only ca. 13mins in total in all final series games for the Knicks) but still a remarkable achievement nonetheless. He took part in 228 NBA regular season games in NBA in his relatively short career so far.
He is an Oklahoma-born Southampton/Milton Keynes-raised Polish-US player, but recorded 4 international caps for Poland. Both his parents used to be basketball players. He is quite popular in Poland too. Speaks relatively good Polish.
As for the Knicks, their NBA title comes after 53 years from their last championship in 1973. Only third in total (70, 73, 26)
